SKIN SOOTHING BEAUTY BALM
Inspired by the pure wild spirit & raw beauty of the Caribbean Ocean.
The Story
I dreamed and foraged the seashore, wading through wild flowers for this extra special facial balm. Manzanilla is the name of a beach in my Island Puerto Rico; Azul mean Blue; and Manzanilla Azul Balm has a beautiful color that does conjure up feelings of the Caribbean Ocean.
A Savior Balm to Soothe & Repair Sunkissed Skin
After getting some healing benefits of sea salty water and sunshine I needed to soothe my skin specially my face. This soft, whipped balm is truly a savior for a Sunkissed skin. Manzanilla Azul Balm can be used on sunburns the following day at night, when the skin no longer feels hot to the touch.
Our Manzanilla Azul Balm is a concentrated overnight nourishing moisturizer that we have developed after many years working with Blue German Chamomile (Matricaria Recutita). One of the most rare and expensive essential oils.
Where does the color of the balm comes from?
The Manzanilla Azul Balm has a natural lovely blue color that imparts a greenish-blue (like a blue-green algae color) hue to the final product thanks to the natural chamazulene that is formed when the plant material is exposed to heat during a steam distillation process. This is involving the plant’s leaves, stems and flowers that pulls out the plant’s naturally high concentration of chamazulene, transforming it from the color of the sun to the glorious, deep blue shade of the ocean.
GOAL: Calm, visibly renew and soothe extremely dry mature skin.
We chose Blue German Chamomile for our Manzanilla Azul Balm because of its well documented anti-inflammatory effects when applied topically.
Chemical Properties
Some of the most important chemical compounds in blue chamomile include:
CHAMAZULENE
BISABOLOL
MYRCENE
BETA-PINENE
Beta-pinene is believed to help reduce stress and promote well-being, but it also acts as an antioxidant.
QUERCETIN
A flavonoid, quercetin acts as an antioxidant.
Texture: gel-like consistency - solid oil facial concentrate
It is like a gel-like that melts on touch into a hydrating, anti-inflammatory fluid that absorbs rapidly into the skin, helping prepare the skin for repair while you sleep.
Manzanilla Azul Balm is great for your gua sha ritual as it seals, heals and protects. This product is non-comedogenic natural balm so that your gua sha tool glides across the skin without any undue tugging.
Aroma: Comforting, fresh, herbaceous
Manzanilla Azul Balm has a sweet, slightly grassy and herbaceous scent, that remind me the delightful tropical scent of chamomile tea.
Fact:
German Chamomile essential oil is rich in the sesquiterpene, chamazulene, which as its name suggests, is blue in color (azul is the Spanish word for blue). Interestingly, chamazulene does not exist in the live flower, which is white and yellow. Rather, it is created when heat is applied during the steam distillation process to extract the essential oil from the flowers. Azulene essential oil is a botanical, an essential oil derived through a steam distillation process from flowers like chamomile, tansy or yarrow. It is blue in colour and rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties.
The Formula:
We start our powerful Manzanilla Azul Balm with a sun ripened, therapeutic fusion of five of nature’s most nutrient dense plants. lovingly hand-picked at the height of their bloom in the early morning hours. These herbs then undergo a solar infusion process in oil. (Sun infusion. It is a traditional method packing the herbs into a glass jar with a tight-fitting lid. Covering it with the oil, and leaving it in the sunny location for about four-five weeks. Sun gently heats the oil to release herb’s aroma and properties into the oil).
After the oil is fully macerated with the plant materials, it is hand-pressed and stored. When we are ready to prepare the new blend, we gather our botanical oils and the finest therapeutic essential oils, and potentize them with prayer and reverence into the Manzanilla Azul Balm.

WORD OF CAUTIONS
If you're allergic to chamomile flowers, or any other plants in the daisy family, you could have a reaction to this product. If you're worried, do a skin patch test by testing a small amount of product on your forearm; if no rash appears after two to three days, you can feel free to apply it elsewhere.
Azulene can make your skin more sensitive to the sun. Avoid sun exposure immediately after using a product with azulene. That is why we recommend using this product at night before going to bed.
Also worth noting: Manzanilla Azul Balm is "preservative free" and will lose clarity and the color fades, and may be light green or yellow. If you notice your product losing its clarity, it's time to toss it. To preserve the life of the Manzanilla Azul Balm, store it in a cool and dark place.
To maintain Manzanilla Azul Balm purity and silken texture, we've added no stabilizers or emulsifiers to this concentrated formula. The luxurious is when it melts on contact with your warm skin. Unfortunately, this also makes it vulnerable to temperature changes. This in no way affects the quality or efficacy of the product. If your pot arrives melted, or melts in your care, place in the refrigerator overnight. Allow to return to room temperature.
We are always updating our formulations to use the cleanest and natural ingredients on the market - so this list is subject to change! It is the most up-to-date ingredient list and may differ from product packaging.
